After two decades in prison for murder, a man is released on parole and returns to his hometown seeking redemption.

After a prank goes disastrously wrong, a group of boys are sent to a detention center where they are brutalized. Thirteen years later, an unexpected random encounter with a former guard gives them a chance for revenge.

In this sequel to A Christmas Story (1983), it is now summer in the Parker family and the usual number of events is happening in their separate lives.
