Elle a student, becomes obsessed with Katie, the heroine of a novel she's just finished reading. When Elle, battling depression, becomes convinced that Katie is actually a human being, it sets her on a reckless and terrifying course.

At first Katy is happy to see her old friend Gina. At least until she realizes that Gina and her boyfriend are planning to rob Katy and willing to hold her family hostage to get the job done.
