Catherine, a young woman forced to care for her embarrassing alcoholic mother, decides to flee her life of poverty and appear on a sleazy talk show after her mother is diagnosed with terminal cancer.

On the night she plans on taking her own life, a 17-year-old girl is kidnapped and finds herself fighting to stay alive. She gets released, but when she returns home, no one believes her story except for one detective.
